What You’ll Gain

Consistent Practice & Accountability

We begin with the Month of Mindfulness (January 1 – 31)—a daily meditation commitment that sets the tone for your entire year. The first week is free to join, and from there you’ll build momentum, consistency, and real-world mindfulness that lasts.

New Meditation Techniques Not Found Anywhere Else

Each week there is a live guided meditation online and over the course of the year you’ll learn everything from shamatha to R.A.I.N. to tonglen to non-meditation.

Access to two dozen of the best meditation teachers alive today

The twice weekly guided meditations are led by a rotating faculty devoted to making sure your practice is the strongest it can be. Featured here are Adreanna Limbach, Sara Shah, Kirat Randhawa, Neil D’Astolfo and Susan Piver.

“I’m experiencing a level of freedom and contentment in life that 5+ years ago seemed otherworldly.” - Tania, current community member

Transformative Curriculum

Across the year, you’ll move through a carefully crafted progression of teachings with each month bringing up a new way to integrate Buddhism into the nitty-gritty aspects of daily life. New 20-30 minute classes come out every Thursday to be watched at your own pace.

January -The Month of Mindfulness

Each week you are taught a new guided meditation. Each day you get a short mindful prompt with words of wisdom to integrate mindfulness into your everyday life.

What you’ll walk away with: a fully established meditation practice

February - How to Be Happy in a World of Suffering

We dive into the earliest teachings of the Buddha known as the Four Noble Truths as well as contemporary teachers like Thich Nhat Hanh who was adamant that frankly, suffering is not enough. We also have to experience joy in everyday life.

March - Confronting Our Demons: The Three Poisons and Their Antidotes

We spend the spring looking at the three root poisons as taught by the Buddha, learning how to unhook ourselves from negative habitual patterns. There’s a special focus on anger, craving, ignorance and turning poison into medicine (i.e. working with everything that comes up in the day).

April - The Buddhist Way of Belonging: Family, Strangers and Difficult People

In today’s world, many of us suffer from loneliness and lack of belonging. In our supportive community we discuss finding connection with the people we love, don’t know and can’t stand as a means to heal our relationships with ourselves and society.

May - How to Live an Intentional Life

The Buddha instructed us to look at our lives and determine what is meaningful. If we take the time to intentionally look, we determine what a meaningful life looks like for us. We discuss karma and how our choices create our lives, the power of intention and how to build a life that reflects your values.

June - How to Love: Buddhism and Relationships

Whether you are single, dating, married or something else entirely, we all struggle with how to remain open-hearted in today’s world. Topics include loneliness, dating without losing yourself, how to stay in love and when love leads to heartbreak and grief.

July - Right Speech: How Conversations Can Change the World

The traditional Buddhist framework of body, speech and mind shows us that the way we converse with others can transform our lives into a state of deep meaning. We will dive into the art of deep listening, how to say the hard thing, working with gossip and conflict and what it means to practice Right Speech in our age of social media.

August - The Buddha Walks into the Office

Based on the teachings from Lodro’s award-winning book of the same name, we study what the Buddha taught about Right Livelihood, what makes our work meaningful, how to avoid burn out, working with difficult people and the Six Tools for Compassionate Leadership.

September - Money, Consumption and the Buddhist Life

An infrequent topic in Buddhist circles, here we discuss what it means to live in a capitalistic society and have to relate to things like money and consumerism. We apply the traditional Buddhist yanas, or vehicles, to becoming more discerning about how we make and spend wealth, bringing that activity into alignment with our values.

October - How to Live with Uncertainty

We crave certainty but Buddhism shows us that the ground is always moving under our feet. Here we look at the teachings that apply to working with anxiety about the future, what to do when life doesn’t go according to plan and how to cultivate and value hope.

November - Letting Go: A Buddhist Guide to Change, Loss and Grief

Everything changes (I’m sorry). How can we apply the Buddhist teachings to make friends with impermanence and learn to grief as a form of love? We also dive into a very specific form of impermanence: death, dying and what Buddhism says comes next.

December - The Buddhist Method for Living a Good Life

We close our year with specific practices for gratitude, forgiveness and generosity and discuss “What really matters?” as a means to bring these teachings from the year into every part of your life.

“This community and practice is life changing! $50 a month is an investment in my peace of mind.” - Cherie W, current community member

A Supportive Community

You’ll join a living, breathing circle of people — The Basic Goodness Collective — who are walking this path with you.

  • A vibrant online community - we have our own platform - where you can share wins, ask questions, and stay encouraged.

  • Twice weekly live gatherings on Zoom: real time, human presence, guided meditations + reflection.

  • Monthly meet-ups online: intimate gatherings with special guest teachers or peer sharing.

  • Accountability built in: we don’t just learn—we do. We encourage one another, check in, show up.

This is more than “mindfulness.” It’s connection—to your own heart, and to others who get it. It’s the fertile soil in which your practice grows.

“Lodro’s presents complex topics in an easy to understand manner. He is very down to earth and doesn’t make anyone feel ‘less than’ no matter where they are on their journey. He is human and relatable.” - Lauren, community member
